We will review our work, welcome the Glendale Library Foundation as a partner in supporting our library system, and run an election at our annual general membership meeting, set for Wednesday, May 24, 7pm, in the Downtown Central Library Auditorium. After the business meeting, we are looking forward to hearing author Lisa Napoli in conversation with Tom Nolan on her book Ray & Joan: The Man Who Made the McDonald’s Fortune and the Woman Who Gave It All Away!

Nominees for the 2017-2019 Friends of the Glendale Public Library Board of Directors include four individuals new to the board and eager to help with our mission.

Of our 21 board members, nine will continue as their terms extend from 2016-2018.

Of current directors whose terms end in 2017, five are going off the board. We thank them for their years of service (more on this following our annual meeting). We also thank our Nominating Committee Chair / Incoming President Robert Gordon for recruiting four new nominees for this year’s slate. Come to the meeting to hear more!

We have a great deal of volunteer needs, so we need a large board to help: book sales support, membership outreach / fundraising, event planning and coordination, and online outreach. We are also looking for volunteers / committee members in these areas. Email info@fogpl.org if you’d like to get involved.
