Roadways and walkways all around Central Library in downtown Glendale are currently in the midst of major renovation that will incorporate stormwater retention, pedestrian safety, connections to the Brand Blvd. downtown corridor, and sustainability / active transportation objectives.

Yes, everything is torn up now as this great work progresses. Allow more time to get to library programs being held at the Adult Recreation Center, adjacent to Central Library. When this work is done, we’ll have attractive pedestrian access on all four sides of our main library. The Friends are strategizing on how to direct people to our new bookstore space, access to which will be through the library’s back door, which opens to the much-improved alley way called Lot 10.

Access to our Back Door Bookstore will be from the alley between Harvard St. and Colorado Blvd.
