Thanks to Glendale Youth Alliance members, who helped the Friends Book Sales Committee organize our online inventory on brand new shelving in our basement space. They helped us get more than 75 boxes of books off the floor and onto shelves, in alphabetical order by Amazon listing!

With that done, the committee is now organizing remaining donated books, which fill about 12 book carts. Headed by VP Book Sales Peter Breckheimer, this effort may take a few more weeks, as each book is evaluated before placed on Amazon, in our bookstore (still not open), or sent to one of the branches.

We are working on a regular schedule and system for processing book donations and plan to have it in place when the Central Library re-opens. As soon as we can start accepting donations, we will be blasting the news out to the community! And as soon as we open the bookstore for business, we will let everyone know about the new retail source for quality used books in downtown Glendale. Please save those high-quality used books you no longer want; we will be able to accept them as donations soon, and when we sell donated books our proceeds go directly to help our Library system and fund special programs.
