October 16-22 is the 11th annual National Friends of Libraries Week!

Celebrate this week: Join the Friends and help us support and promote the library as a vital civic institution of our growing 21st century urban community.

Friends of the Glendale Public Library was established in 1990 and has raised more than $750,000 for the library to date. Currently almost 1,000 community members contribute annually to the Friends, with about 35 Friends actively volunteering their time to assist with fundraising efforts that include donated book sales.

This past year has been challenging as we have had to temporarily close and relocate our book sales operation. Our Amazon sales are back up and running; we are still organizing our main bookstore in its new space in the basement of Central Library. We hope to begin accepting large book collection donations soon! Please join our mailing list so you can keep updated on our progress and donate your books as soon as we can process them.

This past year has also been exciting as we are watching the Central Library facility updates and renovations. The new entrances and walkways approaching the library are being redone right now!
