Desks, chairs and shelving for our new Friends office at Central Library arrived at the end of September, and over the next few weeks we will be putting our new bookstore in order. We hope to have books on shelves by October 21, when we host the POPUP! BookFest multilingual reading.
VOLUNTEERS: As we expand into this new space, we hope to also expand our base of volunteers. Dedicated Friends help us evaluate donated books, place books for sale on Amazon, and sell books at our location. The more volunteers we have, the more hours we will be able to open our store, sell our books, and collect revenues to support library programs. If you love being around books, this is a great way to help us help the Library!
INVENTORY: We are restocking our bookstore! If you’ve been planning to clean out your book collection, now is the time. We will be announcing a drop off point and process for accepting donations very soon. Please stay tuned, or email us to be placed on a notification list. We want high-quality, high-value used books that you no longer need to sell in our new bookstore space! Book sales comprise about half our annual fundraising for library programs and services.
