Our annual report to the membership and elections for our Board of Directors 2016-2018 terms is set for Wednesday, May 25, 2016, 6:30 p.m., at Glendale’s Adult Recreation Center, 201 E. Colorado St.

Award-winning author Nina Revoyr will speak right after the meeting, discussing her novel The Age of Dreaming, the 2016 One Book One Glendale selection.

The Age of Dreaming is a story set in the movie industry’s beginnings and deals with questions of racism, identity and celebrity, using a Japanese silent film star as its protagonist.

We invite everyone to come and hear how the Friends are supporting the Glendale library system as Central Library’s renovation continues, and what our plans are when the project is complete. Make it an evening by staying for Revoyr’s talk, a sweeping look back almost a century at the effects of racism in the film industry and Hollywood.
