. . . Friends interested in serving on a committee or on the Board of Directors. We need volunteers to oversee social media and to plan and promote author talks and book programs. Our Nominating Committee is developing a slate for the next election and will be presenting candidates at our March 15, 2016 Board of Directors. Its deadline for receiving input is February 10, 2016. What are we looking for?

Corresponding Secretary
Our current bylaws say the Corresponding Secretary shall give required notice of the Annual Meeting and shall be in charge of official correspondence. This post has been vacant. It is now being recast to encompass social media outreach and oversight. The Corresponding Secretary will need a few volunteers who understand and enjoy the world of online publishing, social media, photography, apps, and more.

Vice President, Community Events
Our immediate past VP for Community Events, Leon Mayer, met authors and artists at events across the region and invited them to speak at the Glendale Public Library. He promoted our events to other community organizations and appeared at City Council meetings to announce upcoming programs. We are looking for individuals who have great intellectual curiosity, enjoy listening to authors, and are out and about in the community experiencing programs themselves and would like a hand in putting together some great events at the Glendale Public Library. Looking forward, we want to plan a series of events around the grand re-opening of Central Library and that will take several volunteers.
