The Friends have received a grant from the Employees Community Fund of Boeing California to expand online outreach promoting the 21st century renovation of Glendale’s Central Library!

The goals of the “Downtown Digital Jewel” project are to

  • boost awareness of our library system’s resources
  • build community support for the library system
  • increase membership, and
  • promote Glendale’s work to create a first-class public library as an anchor of its newly-revitalized, pedestrian-friendly downtown business and arts district

We are updating our website and Facebook page, linking to city videos, and featuring news about the renovation, transportation improvements around Central Library and our own membership and fundraising activities.

We welcome your engagement! Check out our website, like our Page on Facebook, watch the videos, comment on posts, follow Library Arts & Culture tweets, and sign up to receive our email newsletter and the library’s email updates and announcements.

We are making a strong push to get Friends membership engaged on digital platforms, and our success will be measured both in increased online engagement and in memberships. This program runs through 2016. We are working steadily toward the grand reopening and a series of programs when the work is done!
